Rice can be your best friend for summer

Summer is here and you probably are sweating profusely all day especially while travelling to your daily destination and you must be feeling fatigued with the heat soaking up all your energy. It’s found quite often that the rising temperature makes you low on energy and you should combat it with a healthy diet. While you’re at it, make sure your meals consist of good portion of rice and here’s why!

  • Rice and traditional rice-based dishes are great for your summer diet since they keep your body cool and provide you with the amount of nutrients that your body needs to function! Rice has high water content and can be easily digested. Also, rice is rich in iron and vitamin B complex and is a good source of healthy carbohydrates making it a perfect diet.
  • Rice happens to be a natural coolant and thus reduces your body heat. You’d see in various parts of the country people prepare a traditional dish with rice where cooked rice is put into water and left overnight. This fermented rice is consumed in the morning since it prevents heat strokes and stomach ulcer.
  • Rice mixed with curd (Curd Rice) is the best home remedy for an upset stomach which is quite frequent in summers. It also helps in digestion and works miraculously against bloating and indigestion. It also helps in relieving constipation. Curd Rice also maintains internal body temperature and cools down the body, so it should be a part of your daily diet to combat the soaring heat.

Being easy to digest is one of the key reasons why you should have rice during the summer. Rice gives the body the needed energy and thus is the perfect to be consumed during the hot summer when your body requires more energy to function.
